And we’re live! Introducing my new company, Storytelling Over Coffee
Today marks the public launch day of my new company, Storytelling Over Coffee!
When I first worked in analytics, I noticed many colleagues seemed confused by data. I received questions about extracting data and requests for "key metrics". Yet, I noticed a lack of understanding of what the data was saying. I answered these questions during team meetings, but the information was often forgotten.
Over time, I started scheduling regular 1:1s to answer questions in a much more informal setting. Once 2020 rolled around, I invited colleagues to both casual catchups over coffee virtually with some of them being themed (does anyone remember the tie-dye trend?). Over time, these opportunities to connect turned into more strategy-focused 1:1s. Really, almost all these meetings sprung from a friendly ask “Can we connect over coffee?”
These meetings fostered a sense of camaraderie. I was also able to share my data storytelling knowledge with others in a more thoughtful manner. These virtual coffee conversations became the inspiration for my company’s brand name. Storytelling Over Coffee.
This name is a nod to all those times over the years that I’ve met with colleagues to collaborate over coffee. And I hope that there are many more coffee catchups and strategic sessions to come.
